Terms of Use

These terms apply whenever you use marketplace.sparepartsfinder.co.za. By using the site you agree to them. They are set out in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, please ask before you buy or list.

Please read this first. Spare Parts Finder is a marketplace. Most parts listed here are sold by independent third-party sellers, not by us. When you buy from one of those sellers, your contract of sale is with that seller — they are responsible for the part, its description and its condition.

Where a listing is sold by Spare Parts Finder itself, the seller name on the listing will be “Spare Parts Finder”, and we are the supplier for that sale.

1. Who we are

TJ Spares (Pty) Ltd, trading as Spare Parts Finder, registered in South Africa, of 472 Spionkop Ave, Kya Sand, Randburg, Johannesburg, 2163. Email info@sparepartsfinder.co.za. Telephone +27 61 549 4504. WhatsApp +27 73 982 1553. These details are provided in accordance with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

2. What the marketplace does

We provide a platform where sellers list vehicle parts and buyers find them. We are not the manufacturer, importer or (except where stated) the supplier of the parts listed. We do not inspect every part listed on the site, and we do not warrant that any listing is accurate.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or older to register.
Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
Tell us promptly at info@sparepartsfinder.co.za if you think someone else has used your account.

4. If you are a buyer

Check the fitment details, condition and photographs carefully before you buy. Used and salvage parts vary.
Where a price is shown as “Enquire for price”, no price has been set and you must agree one with the seller.
Your contract of sale is with the seller named on the listing.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 are not affected by these terms.

5. If you are a seller

Only list parts you own or are authorised to sell.
Describe parts honestly, including damage, wear and missing components. Photographs must be of the actual part.
Do not list stolen goods, counterfeit or falsely branded parts, or anything you may not lawfully sell.
Do not list airbags, immobilisers, ECUs or other safety-critical or security items where the law restricts their resale.
Keep stock and prices current, and respond to enquiries in reasonable time.
You are responsible for your own tax obligations, including VAT where it applies to you.
New seller accounts are reviewed before approval. We may decline, suspend or remove an account or a listing at our discretion, particularly where we believe a listing is unlawful, misleading or unsafe.

6. Prohibited use

You may not: scrape or copy the site or its listings in bulk; interfere with the site's operation or security; impersonate anyone; use the site to harass another user; or use contact details obtained here for unsolicited marketing.

7. Content you upload

You keep ownership of the photographs and descriptions you upload. By uploading them you give us a non-exclusive licence to display, resize and distribute them for the purpose of operating and promoting the marketplace, including in product feeds to search engines. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the marketplace available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features at any time.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability under the Consumer Protection Act for death or personal injury caused by unsafe goods, or liability for our own fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for the condition, fitment, legality or performance of parts sold by third-party sellers, nor for any agreement you reach directly with a seller. Where we are found liable in respect of a transaction on the marketplace, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in connection with that transaction.

10. Disputes

If something goes wrong, contact the seller first. If that does not resolve it, email info@sparepartsfinder.co.za with the listing link and we will try to assist. We are not obliged to resolve disputes between buyers and sellers, but we will act on evidence of dishonest or unlawful conduct.

These terms are governed by South African law, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents you from approaching the National Consumer Commission or a consumer court.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
